If Jeffery Alan Wagner wants to distinguish himself from the pack of nearly three-dozen Minneapolis mayoral candidates, his just-released campaign ad may have done the trick.
It features Wagner emerging from the water in ultra-tight swim trunks and then offering rather to-the-point promises to voters, dripping wet and none too pleased with the political status quo:
“Over a million dollars is gonna be spent to become the mayor of Minneapolis, a $100,000-a-year job. You’re not the one’s that are deciding who you vote for — the media and the money is,” he says. “I’m cool with making $100,000 a year. I will not take money from the developers; I will not take money from the political angle. I will not even go to the strip clubs anymore. Wake the f**k up! I’m Jeff Wagner, and I approve this message.”
Wagner’s background (and current day job, for that matter) is unclear. He is apparently involved with a modern-rock music channel on YouTube called MRTC TV. But his campaign’s Facebook page indicates he works at Taco Bell at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport:
And it appears Wagner is having a little trouble being taken seriously in his quest for the mayoral seat…
…he nevertheless seems undeterred.
“But again a mayor debate tonight and no invite,” he posted on his Facebook page. “Not pleased. Please click on this story and subscribe to our You Tube channel. We will be using that as a main avenue of telling our story about our campaign. Thank you.”
