On his TV show Thursday, Glenn Beck urged viewers to speak up and stand up when they see evil — these days, he said, the “evil detector” of too many people seems to be malfunctioning.
Beck began by playing Ann Curry’s interview with Iran’s newly-elected president, Hassan Rouhani, where the man responds to a question about whether the Holocaust occurred by noncommittally saying he is a politician, not a historian.
“He couldn’t bring himself to comment on the Holocaust being a ‘myth,’ and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out exactly what he means. He is a Holocaust denier,” Beck said. “President Obama, however, he sees a future with this guy. In fact, he sees a future pen pal! He’s actually exchanging letters with this man.”
Beck then played video of the president in an interview with George Stephanopolous, where the president said they haven’t spoken directly, but have communicated through “letters.”
“Love letters to Holocaust-denying dictators doesn’t really cut it for me,” Beck reflected. “I don’t think it cuts against the evil that is rising all over Europe, the Middle East, here in America.”
Beck then spoke about a terrorist who was released from Guantanamo Bay who has been found dead fighting with the rebels in Syria, and asked whether you would hire a top communications official for the Muslim Brotherhood who has a reputation for pushing the organization’s “hate-filled agenda” in the foreign press.
As it turns out, the Clinton Foundation did, and the man has just been arrested in Cairo for inciting violence.
“I think some people’s ‘evil detectors’ are completely broken — I don’t know if they were ever installed!” Beck said. “What do you say you and I start exercising it? Call evil by its name. Anybody, anybody who is working with the terrorists…I think you’re evil.”
“That seems to be the current way of this administration’s strategy, is to partner with some of these people. Might be that we’re on the wrong side of history. From trying to woo dictators with love letters, and radical extremists with cushy jobs in foundations of former presidents, and even within the Department of Homeland Security itself, America is a disaster waiting to happen and the world is already on fire,” he added.
Beck proceeded to discuss the chaos gripping Greece and Turkey, quantitative easing, and the “proxy war” in Syria that could potentially push the world towards World War III.
“Buckle up, get ready, it’s getting closer – but it’s going to be okay because I truly believe that most people are good, and as long as we are good and know where the source comes from,” he concluded, “we will survive.”
