Si Robertson is one of the revered stars of A&E’s hit series “Duck Dynasty.” Known for his comical demeanor and quirky one-liners, it isn’t often that fans get to see one of the Robertsons’ finest deliver candid, serious advice about life, love and faith. But in a recent interview with Fox411, “Uncle Si” did just that.

The “Duck Dynasty” star praised his television show for reminding Americans that their nation was “founded on Bible-toting, God-fearing men and women” and he spoke openly about some of the very real and pointed challenges he has faced in his own life, like facing the possibility of not being able to have children.

Robertson’s wife’s difficulty to conceive a child was one of the many issues he addressed. Despite being told by doctors that she’d never be able to have kids, the devout husband recalled having faith and believing that his wife would end up having children. In the end, his faith paid off.

“She went to all the specialists and they all said, ‘You’ll never have kids.’ I said, ‘Don’t worry about it,’” he recalled. “She said, ‘Yeah but I know you love ‘em so I’m not going to marry you.’”

But Robertson insisted and the two were eventually married. They subsequently had a son and a daughter and even have some grandchildren now — something that may not have been possible had he not continued to believe that the doctors were wrong. He calls them his “miracle” kids.

His marriage has been a blessing, but, of course, no matrimony comes without its challenges. And for Robertson and his wife, their son’s mental health struggles was one of the issues that put a strain on the family.

While his son was very sick at one point, medication helped temper the situation. Understandably, the situation put stress on the family, but Robertson said that life isn’t always going to be easy — a lesson that is valuable for everyone to learn.

Oh yeah but if you think you’re going to go through this life without running into some problems then you need to think again. It’s not going to happen,” he told Fox, going on to say that he believes some people in today’s world divorce too easily.Look the Bible says that you marry for life okay. It’s a lifetime decision. They look at it way too trivial.”

It’s no secret that the Robertsons are Christians and Si is no exception. He spoke openly in the interview about his belief in God and all that he has done for mankind.

Recently, Robertson found himself — or at least his likeness — at the center of a controversy after a Virginia school district forced a student to remove a shirt that featured one of his famous one-liners. It read, “I will hurt you physically and metaphysically.” While it was a quip, the school district said that the shirt, which also featured Uncle Si’s face, was threatening.
