A Chicago woman is suing the nearby village of Skokie and one of its officers after she claims she was violently shoved into a jail cell, causing serious injuries that required surgery. The shocking incident that reportedly occurred in March was caught on camera.
Though she admits to driving while intoxicated, Cassandra Feuerstein claims her treatment by a Skokie Police Officer Michael Hart was excessive and unacceptable.
Officer Hart forcefully shoved Feuerstein into a concrete bench in a holding cell, breaking bones in her face that required surgery and a titanium plate, a civil rights lawsuit claims.

Hart is also accused of filing a false report claiming Feuerstein resisted arrest to justify his actions. The charges were later dropped by prosecutors in Cook County.
“Apparently I was not looking into the camera the way the officer wanted me to,” Feuerstein said.
“A spokeswoman for the village of Skokie says they haven’t been served with the suit yet but when they do, village attorneys will review it,” CBS Chicago reports.
