In a highly creative — and horrifyingly graphic — attempt to scare his neighbors, an Oklahoma man decided to take things up a notch this Halloween season. The “prank” resulted in at least one 911 call.
Rather than using traditional skeleton or evil pumpkin decorations, Johnnie Mullins set up a fake bloody crime scene in his driveway. He carefully placed two fake dead bodies on the pavement, complete with bloody hand prints on the garage door and a pool of blood next to the head of one of the bodies.
Mullins, of Mustang, Okla., said he was “just trying to scare people” — because that’s what he likes to do.
Neighbors were apparently freaked out by the display, some concerned about the children in the neighborhood.
“My heart about came out of my chest. I thought ‘Oh my God.’ If I think it’s real, just think of what a child would think?” neighbor Rebecca Fuentes told KWTV-TV.
However, Mullins claims the kids in the neighborhood “don’t freak out or anything,” though he admits they might at first.
Police responded to a 911 call reporting the Halloween display in Mullins’ driveway, but determined the homeowner wasn’t doing anything illegal.
“It’s Halloween. I don’t think it’s too far,” Mullins said.
