A two-minute video showing a naked 19-year-old Texas college student frolicking in a pool on campus could potentially end with her suspension or expulsion.
The skinny-dipping stunt happened in the middle of Prairie View A&M University’s homecoming week — an event-filled week with the theme, “The Gold Standard.”
According to Houston’s KRIV-TV, the unnamed student voluntarily stripped naked and jumped into the water as dozens of onlookers captured it on their cellphone cameras. At one point, the woman turned her back to the cheering crowd and started “twerking” — the dance style brought to national prominence by Miley Cyrus.
After about a minute in the water, the woman put on glasses, waded to the edge of the fountain and stepped into the arms of a waiting man.
The university’s office of student conduct is reportedly looking into the incident. A university spokesperson told Fox, “The one video you’re talking about only highlights this one person who is involved in this incident. However what we found is that a prank included many more students.”
After an investigation, the school could impose sanctions on this student and any others determined to be involved in the prank. The school’s options include community service, suspension and even expulsion.
Many students interviewed by local news seemed forgiving of the woman’s actions.
Is this just a harmless prank or should the student be suspended or expelled? We invite you to take our poll and share your opinions in our comments section.
