Shocking new dash camera video released Friday shows a police officer firing shots at a minivan full of five kids after their mother appears to refuse to comply after being pulled over.
The video shows an unidentified New Mexico State Police officer confront Oriana Ferrell after stopping her vehicle on Oct. 28 for traveling 71 miles-per-hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone.

Things escalate when Ferrell does not comply with the officer’s order to turn off her car, but instead chooses to drive off.
She pulls over again and the infuriated officer immediately demands she exit the driver seat and step out of the vehicle.
“Look, I’m going to ask you one more time to get out of the vehicle and then I’m going to pull you out, OK?” the officer said. “You’re already facing evading charges. You ran away from me.”
“Sir, I pulled back over, I didn’t run away,” Ferrell responded. “You see my children. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to take them to the Rio Grande.”
Ferrell reluctantly complies, but her cooperation doesn’t last for long.
The mother of five makes a run for the drivers seat and engages in a struggle with the officer. At this point, the minivan of kids unloads and the officer appears to lose control of the scene. Somehow the mother and children all end up back in the vehicle.
Backup arrives, but the officers can’t gain entry into the vehicle because of the locked doors.
As one officer starts smashing the vehicle’s windows, the mother once again takes off.
At this juncture, one officer can be seen on video firing shots at the minivan.
The mother reportedly then led police on a high-speed chase before finally surrendering in front of a hotel. She was arrested at the scene, along with her 14 year-old-son, according to KRQE.
State police are now investigating the officers involved.
