A Japanese woman who called police thousands of times within the last year, often asking them to arrest people she knew, ended up — you guessed it — getting arrested herself.

The 44-year-old woman from the town of Sakai over six months dialed 110 (the country’s equivalent of 911) more than 15,000 times, according to International Business Times.

The report stated that the woman began her excessive calling in May after one of her legitimate calls to the emergency line led to an arrest.

“She made as many as 927 emergency calls in one day, disturbing our police duties,” a police officer said, according to IBTimes.

“She didn’t make up a story that required us to respond — it was just total nonsense,” the official told reporters, according to The Japan Times. “We visited her place about 60 times before arresting her, trying to persuade her not to call us again. I wonder if she was just lonely.”

It took 60 visits to the woman’s home by law enforcement before they actually arrested her, ruling out mental illness as a possibility for why she was calling.

She could face up to three years in prison and a fine up to $4,900.
