Geraldo Rivera appeared to bash his Los Angeles radio replacement as a “right-wing jerk off Rush wannabe” after another host taunted him over Twitter for losing his slot.

Rivera will lose his national syndication starting in 2014 and will only be heard in New York. Bryan Suits has taken over Rivera’s timeslot on KABC.

Here’s how it unfolded over Twitter between Rivera and host Tom Leykis:

Leykis asked whether Cumulus Media chief operating officer John Dickey “know[s] about this.”

As Mediaite noted, Leykis is a self-described “left-leaning libertarian,” so Rivera’s “right-wing jerk off Rush wannabe” slam is confusing.

@ @ Really, Geraldo? Your ratings were so low they couldn't be seen with an electron microscope. FACT.

Rivera is of course no stranger to candid moments on Twitter, as his semi-nude “selfie” earlier this year made all too clear.
