“Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie, sat down with Fox News hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Bill Hemmer during the network’s “All-American New Year” special Tuesday night to discuss the future direction of the show and the recent controversy surrounding the family’s patriarch, Phil Robertson.
It was somewhat assumed that the Robertsons, who appeared live via satellite from Steamboat Springs, Colo., would be specifically addressing the comments on homosexuality that sparked the uproar. That didn’t happen.
When asked what he thought about A&E’s decision to suspend and then reinstate his father, Robertson said the family is just “glad to be back to work.”
“A&E and us are fine. The Robertsons, we’re looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows, and it’s a new year. So we’re ready to break in a new year and start it all over again,” he added.
The rest of the interview was fairly light.
“Who breaks their [New Year's] resolution first?” Hasselbeck asked.
Robertson said he’s “not big” on resolutions, and his wife agreed that it’s hard to break a resolution if you don’t even make one.
