Ryan Lee Carroll won a nationwide contest back in September to meet the cast of the hit series “Breaking Bad,” praising the show at the time as “highly addicting, just like the meth they make.”

“It’s such a good show,” the 28-year-old San Carlos Park, Fla., resident told a local news outlet then. “I think it’s addicting because people can relate to the main character.”

Several months later, life imitated art when Carroll was busted on multiple drug charges, including felony possession of synthetic narcotics and a misdemeanor charge of keeping a shop or vehicle for dangerous drugs.

Police said they found more than $1 million worth of synthetic marijuana at Carroll’s home and the homes of two others on New Year’s Eve, WBBH-TV reported. Benjamin Smith and James Allen were also arrested and charged.

WBBH-TV reported that deputies raided a home in San Carlos Park Tuesday, with one neighbor saying “there had to be, like, 15 cop cars.”

“It is bizarre, I’ll give you that,” neighbor Peter Ryther added. “If it turns out to be true, media certainly influences the way that we live, but I would imagine his dealings would have been before then.”

Lee County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tiffany Wood disclosed few details about the case, saying it is still an active investigation, but reassured the community that it is “safe.”

The New York Daily News’ Nina Golgowski reflected: “At least it wasn’t a contest for the TV show ‘Dexter.’”
