Glenn Beck on Thursday interviewed Tom Wynkoop, the owner of Fox’s Pizza of Ligonier in Ligonier, Penn. Wynkoop made headlines — including one on TheBlaze — after posting a message on Facebook offering to deliver medicine, food and essentials to anyone who has medical issues or was home-bound during the recent inclement weather.

“[Due] to the extreme weather conditions please call my cell phone and I will do everything in my power to have things brought to you (medications, food, etc…) NO FOOD ORDERING REQUIRED,” Wynkoop wrote in the post.

When Beck asked whether it’s “sad” that such an act of kindness is making national news, Wynkoop said he hopes it’s a joyful event that is “opening people’s eyes to take care of one another again, and just be there.”

He conceded that his offer would have been much more difficult in a big city, but said there was no reason for him not to make the offer in his town of between 1,600 and 2,000 residents.

“Hey, we’re already here,” Wynkoop said, summarizing his thought process. “Call us, we’ll help you.”

The Pennsylvania resident said his actions are far from rare where he comes from.

“If somebody needs help next door, they’re going to help them next door,” he remarked. “It’s just a part of life. It’s just the way we do things.”
