A large mob of 30 to 40 twerking teenagers ambushed and robbed a convenience store in Texas last Saturday night — and now the surveillance video has been released.
Footage from the incident captures the group of rowdy kids swarming the store — just outside College Station —and stealing candy, food, and drinks, among other items.
Store clerk Terry Polsgrove recounted the bizarre robbery to CNN affiliate KBTX-TV.
“It was pretty slow, I was about to close the store and I had like two customers,” Polsgrove said.
Then things suddenly changed.
“It got to the point where I started seeing more and more kids coming into the store,” Polsgrove explained.
“I called my co-worker in to come help me out and keep an eye on them because we’ve been having a lot of stealing in the store,” he added.
Before the employees knew it, the kids started stealing items off the store’s shelves.
“It happened so fast, within a matter of 20 minutes I was being overwhelmed by kids ages eight to 17, I mean I was just shocked,” Polsgrove told KBTX-TV.
“I don’t know if it was planned or what, but it was crazy,” he said.
Now, authorities say the involved individuals can be charged with a variety of crimes, including vandalism, theft, organized crime and even assault, KBTX-TV reported.
Police are currently investigating the crime and no charges have been filed.
