Shock video released by a Florida police department shows a vehicle swerve off the road and flip over after the driver became distracted text messaging.

The footage was taken from Jan. 4 shortly after 1 a.m. with a Ft. Myers officer’s dash-cam, according to WFLA-TV, and shows a driver swerving from lane to lane before finally going off the road, crashing and flipping his car over.

The driver, Michael Woody, was able to crawl out of the wreck and was cited for careless driving and texting while driving, WFLA-TV reported.

He reportedly confessed he was texting at the time of the accident and not paying proper attention to the road.
