Glenn Beck told his audience Wednesday that abortion has never been one of his primary political issues. It’s an extremely divisive topic, he said, and most of the time the conversation ends with people shouting phrases like “war on women.”

But, Beck said, because “both political parties have said that they plan to make abortion one of the main issues this election year,” and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo “has just made being pro-life a big reason for not being welcome in his state,” Beck said it’s time to talk about it.

“The biggest problem with this debate is that we, as conservatives, have lost [the argument],” Beck said. “We lost it the day we allowed abortion supporters to get away with the biggest language coup in the history of the world.”

Beck said that because of the “language coup,” the other side is not for “killing babies” or “mass genocide, which has taken the lives of 55 million children since 1973.” They are not even for “aborting babies,” he added. They are “pro-choice.”

Beck said many abortion advocates still maintain they want the practice to be “safe and rare,” though the numbers seem to indicate it is anything but. In fact, many seem to regard it an “inhuman abuse of women” to even ask that she have an ultrasound before making the irreversible choice, Beck added.

“The old adage is true,” the multimedia personality continued. “Control the language, control the argument. More importantly, control the language, control the argument, control society. Nothing proves that point more vividly than the abortion debate. The other side never even talks about a baby. No human life is even involved at all!”

Beck said it’s “ironic” that those who are trying “desperately” to stop the “genocide” are called Nazis. He reminded his audience that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a believer in eugenics and “weeding out the unfit.”

After speaking about the handful of exceptions – like rape, incest, and the health of the mother – that dramatically alter the situation, Beck said he’s tired of walking on eggshells regarding the topic. He said future generations will see abortion as we see slavery – without a doubt, evil and wrong.

“It is a genocide and I know that’s strong language, but I’m sick and tired of pussyfooting around on the subject. It is time for strong language,” he said.
