Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney (R) on Sunday said former President Bill Clinton (D) embarrassed the U.S. and failed to adequately perform his responsibilities as an adult.
The former Massachusetts governor made the comments on NBC’s “Meet the Press” after host David Gregory asked if it was fair to judge Hillary’s potential prospects at a 2016 bid for the White House on her husband’s former actions.
“I think Hillary Clinton, if she becomes a nominee will have plenty to discuss about her own record,” Romney said. “I don’t imagine that Bill Clinton is going to be a big part of it.”
And while Romney acknowledged that the 1990s were “positive economic times” for the U.S., he issued a scathing criticism of Clinton’s conduct as president.

“He embarrassed the nation,” the former presidential contender said. “He breached his responsibility, I think, as an adult and as a leader in his relationship — and I think that’s very unfortunate.”
