Glenn Beck said Wednesday that he doesn’t care if just “four people” read the news stories — he wants his network TheBlaze to continue covering 15-year-old Justina Pelletier’s case until it is resolved.

“Find every reason to talk about it,” he said. “Turn over every stone. Show me everything that people can do and are doing … this is the most important story to me. Because you have a chance. You have the opportunity to save a woman’s life.”

A little more than one year ago, Justina’s parents lost custody of her after disagreeing with a Boston Children’s Hospital diagnosis that she has somatoform disorder, a psychiatric condition. They believe she has mitochondrial disease, a condition she had been receiving treatment for by doctors at Tufts Medical Center.

The Massachusetts Department of Children & Families this week filed for Lou Pelletier, Justina’s father, to be held in contempt of court for speaking out about the case to TheBlaze in defiance of a judge’s gag order. Meanwhile, Lou says, his daughter’s condition is rapidly worsening, since she is not receiving treatment for mitochondrial disease and has been torn from her family.

“He may go to jail for standing up for his daughter,” Beck said. “If he doesn’t go to jail, the other option is that the state fines him. The family’s already broke because — here is David, and he’s standing up against Goliath … all he has is his voice. And the state is trying to silence that.”

Beck said that Lou Pelletier is willing to go to jail, but that somebody has to “stand in the gap” for Justina. He urged listeners to get active on social media and go to FreeJustina.com if they wish to donate to the Pelletier family.

“I’ve done this business long enough to know now [how] the stupid game works,” Beck said scornfully. “If they get you to shut up, then there is no story.”

Beck said if Lou Pelletier stops speaking out, the state will stonewall the press, saying they are acting in the best interests of the child and can’t reveal any details.

“And meanwhile, dad will be rotting in jail!” Beck shouted. “So dad won’t say anything, and mom won’t say anything because mom’s got to be there for her other sick children! And so what will happen? The story will be lost. In this particular case the press is literally trying to bury the story.”

Beck addressed those who say “there must be something else to this story” and “this is still America…”

“These people are not necessarily the most cuddly family you’ve ever met, [but] that’s as bad as it gets,” Beck said. “They are not necessarily cuddly when it comes to someone kidnapping their daughter! That’s it!”

Growing increasingly heated, Beck added: “Wake up, America! Have you seen, we’re killing people with drones without a trial? We’re not that country anymore! Wake up. Wake up. This isn’t about politics. We can change this one. But we need to all stand together. Let’s just focus and do one thing together, and save a girl’s life.”
