New Mexico State suspended guard K.C. Ross-Miller Friday morning over a brawl he instigated seconds after visiting NMSU’s overtime loss 66-61 to Utah Valley on Thursday, ESPN reported.
Video catches Ross-Miller firing the basketball at Utah Valley’s Holton Hunsaker, the son of the Wolverine’s head coach Dick Hunsaker, as time expired.
Ross-Miller was about 20 feet away when he hit Hunsaker, the ball bouncing high off his leg.
Ross-Miller’s action at first triggered some shoving but shifted within seconds to fisticuffs between NMSU players and fans who stormed the court, NBC Sports noted.
In the video Daniel Mullings is seen apparently getting pulled out of the crowd by a man who appears to be an NMSU staffer, NBC Sports said, adding that Renaldo Dixon is apparently seen throwing a punch at a fan who was attacking a teammate.
D.K. Eldridge, also of New Mexico State, looks to have been involved in the fighting as well, according to the Los Angeles Times
