It’s Face-Palm Time as John Travolta Has a Little Trouble with Name of ‘Frozen’ Singer

OK, maybe it was the lighting.

Legendary actor John Travolta, standing front and center during the Oscars Sunday night, was visibly squinting as he ran through his introduction of Idina Menzel, who was about to sing the Academy Award-nominated song “Let It Go” from “Frozen.”

But when it came time to say her name, it came out…well…not Idina Menzel. (It sounded more like “Adele Dazee” or something.)

Perhaps worst of all is that Travolta prefaced his butchered pronunciation with superlatives pointing to Menzel’s prestige (the “one and only” and “wickedly talented”).

Or maybe the cue-card guy was just having a little bit of fun.

Either way, Menzel brought it:

And in the end, “Let It Go” took the gold statue for Best Original Song.
