Actor Liam Neeson appeared on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend to help Jay Pharoah’s Barack Obama issue a warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin over his latest actions in Ukraine.
“Recently I got a very disturbing call,” Neeson said. “Crimea had been taken. I hate it when things are taken.”
The actor then issued a warning to the Russian president.
“Mr. Putin, Vladimir. I’ve never met you. I don’t have experience in international diplomacy, but what I do have is a very particular set of skills,” Neeson said. “Skills that would make me a nightmare for someone like you you. By which I mean I’m an actor. In Hollywood, with a lot of connections.”
Neeson’s warning was followed by a short production, featuring Pharoah’s Obama riding a horse shirtless and wrestling a bear.
Earlier in the skit, “SNL’s” Obama said he had been forced to summon Neeson because “nothing is getting through” to the Russian president and “desperate times call for desperate measures”
“We’ve taken every reasonable step to end this crisis,” Pharoah’s Obama said. ”Thursday, I spoke with President Putin on the phone for an hour. It did not go well.”
