Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) said it’s “good” for people to suggest that there may be “other answers” for what really happened on 9/11.
Sanchez was on C-SPAN Wednesday and made the remarks in response to a caller who criticized the network for allegedly silencing so-called “truthers“ who question the official findings regarding the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
“I’ve been watching your show for some time now and I just want you to know that I think it’s a shame that you are silencing those people that continue to talk about 9/11, they should have an investigation for building seven,” the caller “Royce” said, adding, “investigate 9/11.”
C-SPAN host Nancy Calo responded, “We haven’t silenced them, they’re welcome to call into the show, they have called into the show.”
“I think it’s a good thing for people to push and to talk to their congresspeople and to suggest there might be other answers,” Sanchez said. “Sometimes the best information, honestly, the best information we get comes from our constituents who tell us, have you seen this, have you seen that document, have you talked to this person. We have found out a lot of things that way.”
Calo said that “when a congressperson is sitting here and we get those phone calls, we welcome them to respond. If it’s off-topic, then we will move on.”
