If you’re a regular reader of TheBlaze, you know that former “Full House” star Candace Cameron-Bure is an unashamed Christian. So when she was announced as a contestant on “Dancing With the Stars,” there were likely plenty of people who wondered how she would balance her faith and convictions with the sexual aspects of the show.
This week, you got your answer: She wasn’t going to do anything that she felt compromised her values. And the audience seemed to eat it up.
Before her rumba with partner Mark Ballas, the show played a package showing Cameron-Bure explaining her relationship with Jesus Christ and her thoughts on the sexual and sensual side of the dance she was about to perform.
“I’m a Christian,” Cameron-Bure said in the video package. “My life revolves around my relationship with Jesus Christ. So with the overall tone of the dance and the costumes I’m not going to take a backseat. My voice will definitely be heard.”
In the video, the crowd can be heard cheering her position.
Cameron-Bure then proceeded to nix her partner’s costume idea that included him without a shirt. And while she admitted the dance was “sensual,” she maintained that she would not be over-the-top.
In fact, after the dance, host Erin Andrews asked her about the dichotomy.
“I feel like a sexual woman, I’ve been married for 18 years. I am a sexual woman,” Cameron-Bure said, the crowd offering another round of cheers. “But I want to reserve certain things for my husband, so we did the best that we could with a rumba that I still felt comfortable doing.”
The pair ended up getting a score of 21 out of a possible 30 on the dance.
