A 71-year-old Florida man took his road rage straight into a McDonald’s drive-thru Sunday night — and it’s clear he wasn’t ordering himself a Happy Meal.
According to the Winter Haven Police Department, Howard Wilson claims he was cut off in the drive-thru lane at the fast-food restaurant in Winter Haven, Fla.
At this point, Wilson got out of his van and appeared to talk with the people inside the offending sedan for a couple minutes. Then he let his fist fly.
Wilson punched the passenger, identified by WTSP-TV as Brittani Thomas, through the open car door.
“I got everything,” Tammy Roman, who filmed the incident and Wilson’s Ohio license plate using her cellphone, told WTSP.
Watch the footage:
Wilson fled the scene but after seeing Roman’s footage, police were able to catch up with him. At this point, Wilson admitted it “was like a road rage incident,” according to the news station.
“Wilson was arrested and charged with simple battery. And he didn’t get his hamburger!” the police department wrote on YouTube.
Chief Gary Hester recommended that if you ever became the victim of drive-thru road rage that it would be best to leave doors and windows shut and safely drive off, WTSP reported.
This is the second time within the last few weeks when a Floridian has captured a bout of road rage on camera, giving police the information to lead to a suspect’s arrest.
