Glenn Beck on Thursday drew attention to a story that he said is “Nazi-esque” and should be “the front page story all across the nation.” It centers around the Environmental Protection Agency’s experiments on Americans in 2010 and 2011.
“So the EPA was doing a test, and one of the things they were doing is filling rooms with diesel fuel exhaust and particulate matter,” Beck explained on his radio program. “For two hours, people were sitting [there]. They did tell them they were going to be doing some of this testing, but they didn’t tell them all of the [risks].”
A report released by the Office of the Inspector General on March 31 confirmed, “The EPA obtained informed consent from the 81 human study subjects before exposing them to pollutants … [but] exposure risks were not always consistently represented.”
The report said the subjects were not informed of the long-term cancer risk, and were exposed to more pollutants than allowed.
“For example, the OMEGACON protocol stated that an exposure was to be shut down if particulate concentrations exceeded 600 μ g/m 3 for over six minutes,” the report stated. “Evidence shows that EPA exposed one OMEGACON study subject to pollutant concentrations that reached 751 μ g/m 3…”
Beck questioned why the experiments were even necessary when the impacts of pollutants on the human body are already well known.
“You know what makes this so sick?” Beck added. “Do you know what the gas was that [the Germans] started with? … It was how they were killing undesirables — diesel fumes.”
He continued: “So I don’t think the EPA really needs to do this. The Nazis already did! We know exactly what happens when you have too much diesel fume.”
Beck said people often get “in trouble” for comparing anything to the Nazis, but “pumping diesel fumes into a room, when we all know what happens with diesel fumes … doing experiments on people — boy, that kind of sounds a little Nazi-esque!”
He said that’s especially true when the subjects are being lied to about the ramifications.
“What do you say we get the EPA out of the pollution stuff, and you tell the FDA to get out of the way of possibly life-saving treatments and cancer treatments?” he asked.
