CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — A 4-year-old southeastern Pennsylvania boy is dead after police said he was hit by a van just after his father’s funeral.
Police in Chester said Carder Brown had just exited a car when he was hit by a van Saturday evening. Investigators said the boy jumped from the back seat after seeing his mother standing outside.
The little boy was rushed to a hospital and died.
Family and police said funeral services for Carder’s father had been held a few hours earlier. Derrick Brown was shot and killed last week.
Police said the driver of the van stopped at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
