A teen and her mom were playing tennis Friday evening in Warwickshire, England, when they spotted a strange, black circle in the sky.
Naturally, 16-year-old Georgina Heap whipped out her phone to film the scene, which occurred in the town of Leamington Spa.
According to Heap, the smoke-like ring remained in the sky for about three minutes and then dissipated.

UFO expert Nick Pope, who was a former adviser for the British government on unexplained occurrences, told the U.K.’s Daily Mail that he thinks the circle is made of something “organic.”
“It’s a truly bizarre image. It looks like a smoke ring, but I can’t see where it could have come from,” he said, according to the Daily Mail. “Other alternatives would include some sort of unusual meteorological phenomenon. One other possibility is that the shape is made up of millions of bees or other insects, but I’ve never heard of insects behaving in this way before, so if this is the explanation, it’s a real-life X-File.”
The Daily Mail noted that the local fire department said it had no reports of fires that could have caused the ring.
Chuck Maines from Indiana emailed TheBlaze, noting a similar occurrence near his home last year.
What he learned after he appealed to social media with his photo is that many thought it could be fireworks.
“I was told that there were some fireworks that did not ‘go off’ at a nearby ballpark the evening before, so firemen had blown them up the day that I took this photo,” he wrote. “Seemed plausible to me, so I let it go at that.”
