Vice President Joe Biden conceded Tuesday that he made an unpresidential remark while unveiling the results of a White House task force which investigated sexual assault on campuses.

Biden reportedly said that when he was growing up, “If a man raised his hand to a woman, you had the job to kick the living crap out of him if he did it.”

He then immediately admitted that the comment was not presidential, but said it was “something every man should begin to understand.”

Biden was unveiling a report issued by a White House task force on sexual assaults, which recommended schools conduct campus climate surveys to better understand how prevalent sexual assault is on their campus. The report also provided a wide range of other suggestions, including recommending schools provide victims with someone to talk to following sexual assault.
