Iowa GOP Senate hopeful Joni Ernst first made national headlines in March with an ad that talked about “castrating hogs.”

That 30 second ad received national attention on a broad spectrum of news outlets and late night television shows, and earned the candidate an endorsement from Sarah Palin.

The spot also seems to have helped Ernst separate herself from a crowded field of five Republican candidates vying for the party’s nomination. Current polling data shows Ernst either leading or running a very close second to Mark Jacobs.

The winner of the June 3 primary will face off against Democrat Bruce Braley for the seat that Tom Harkin is vacating.

On Sunday, Ernst released a new ad that is likely to get even more attention to her campaign.

“When she sets her sights on Obamacare, she’s gonna unload.”
