Police are questioning actor Michael Jace after his wife was found dead in their home.

The actor, known from TV’s “The Shield,” may have pulled the trigger himself.

The Los Angeles Times reports that city police arrived at the couple’s home in the Hyde Park neighborhood around 8:30 p.m. Monday and that 40-year-old April Jace was found dead inside. Police didn’t return messages seeking details on how she died.

Detective Sal LaBarbera tells KNBC-TV that Michael Jace is a suspect and that police are not looking for other suspects.

According to TMZ, Jace called 911 Monday evening and told police, “I shot my wife.”

TMZ also reports that Jace’s two children were home at the time of the shooting and witnessed the event occur.

Jace was in custody and unavailable for comment.

The 50-year-old Jace plays Detective Lowe in the TV series “The Shield” and had roles in “Forrest Gump” and “Planet of the Apes.” The couple were married nine years.
