A thug is accused of viciously punching a woman in the face, breaking her orbital bone, in an apparent “knockout game” incident in a Manhattan PATH station on Sunday. He may have gotten away with the sucker punch, however, the woman’s friend wasn’t about to let him get away that easy.
After 36-year-old Ibrahim King allegedly punched Elizabeth Mejia, 21, in the face at around 3:40 a.m., the woman’s friend, identified as Steve Sala, reportedly chased the suspect down.
When he caught up with the thug, Sala reportedly put King in a chokehold, ripping out one of his dreadlocks in the struggle. He then ordered King to apologize for what he did.
“He finally apologized, but not right away,” Sala told the New York Post.
The suspect was apparently able to wiggle free from the chokehold and attempted to flee the scene, but Port Authority detectives were able to apprehend him a short time later.
According to the Post, Mejia was treated at Bellevue Hospital for broken orbital bone and a fractured nose. King was charged with assault.
