We’ve seen plenty of crazy BASE jumping videos with daredevils clad in wingsuits sailing over cliffs, mountains and cities, but this could be the “world’s first wingsuit BASE jumping dog.”

Dean Potter, well-known as an adventurer, recently strapped his mini cattle dog, Whisper, on his back for his latest stunt.

“All Whisper wants is to be with her pack-family. When we go on adventures, she goes on adventures. She’s just a loyal pup with a very adventuresome Papa,” Potter told National Geographic‘s Adventure Blog.

This video is a preview for the longer 22-minute film “When Dogs Fly,” which premiered at Mountainfilm Festival and Tour over the weekend, according to National Geographic.

To those who fear for Whisper’s safety, Potter said that when he brings her along he only jumps of the “safest cliffs in the world with the longest and cleanest rock drops.” He also has a custom-made BASE jump rig to accommodate carrying the extra 22 pounds on his back.

“This allows Whisper to go on amazing, long mountain climbs and hikes with us, instead of being trapped in the car or left at home,” he said.

As far as Potter can tell, Whisper enjoys flying, making about 12 jumps with him.

“She runs around and shows off and celebrates and barks and yips with joy,” Potter told National Geographic of her reaction after landing.

In addition to BASE jumping, Potter said he and his family takes Whisper swimming, surfing, paragliding, rock climbing and mountain biking. While the dog might seem OK with flying in a wingsuit, Potter added that she doesn’t like flying in helicopters or airplanes when the doors are off.

“She also doesn’t like vacuum cleaners. They are all too noisy,” he told National Geographic. “She sends very clear signals that she doesn’t want to associate with these contraptions, by trembling and running away. We respect Whisper’s wishes. If she says she doesn’t want to do something, we sure don’t force her.”
