Sarah Palin: ‘In Many Respects’ Illegal Aliens Receive ‘Better Health Care’ and Benefits Than U.S. Troops

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Thursday night that she believes illegal aliens are “in many respects” receiving better health care than some U.S. troops.

Palin made her comments while discussing the VA scandal with conservative Fox News host Sean HannityHe asked, “Is the VA a death panel for many?”

She proceeded to say that she believes government-run health care is inefficient and that recent allegations about the VA’s handling of patient affairs proves that point.

“That is what government-run health care will resort in. It’s inefficient,” Palin said. “It takes away choices and isn’t it ironic that those who are willing to sacrifice all … they’re the ones getting screwed by the VA and our commander in chief is in charge of this.”

Hannity then stated that there’s one doctor for every 1.5 prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba, in comparison to only one doctor for every 35 veterans.

“In many respects, illegal aliens in our country today are receiving better health care, more benefits than some of our troops,” Palin said.

She also charged that Obama doesn’t fully grasp the military’s mission and intentions.

“I think there’s a lack of understanding on our commander in chief’s part of what the mission of the military is and why it is that we owe a debt of gratitude that’s manifested in benefits paid to those who’ve already earned them when it comes to what our military’s all about,” she said.
