A Wisconsin man who allegedly stole a Starbucks tip jar shouted “you can’t catch me” at officers, moments before they caught him and took him into custody.
Kirk L. Becker, 53, allegedly took the money after a barista had declined to provide him a free coffee, a local outlet reported.
“There are homeless people out here,” the man said, according to a release. “You should invite them in for free coffee.”
When the Barista informed the man that doing so would violate store policy, he allegedly became angry and called the employee selfish. That’s when police say he took off with the tip jar.
As he attempted to evade them, he shouted, “You can’t catch me,” according to the release.
Moments later, when officers took him into custody, police say he told them: “I do not forgive you.”
