Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer had some tough words for President Barack Obama Wednesday night, telling TV host Bill O’Reilly that he believes the commander-in-chief is operating under “his own constitution” — and that he is profoundly damaging the liberal cause.

“Look, if this were a parliamentary system like Britain we would have a call for a vote of ‘no confidence’ and the government would be out. We’d have new elections,” he said. “We have a presidential system, terms are fixed. It doesn’t matter a whit what’s going on with the popularity of the president.”

And Krauthammer wasn’t done there. He continued: “He may lose the senate, but he’s governing without the Congress. He’s got his own constitution that he’s operating under.”

The conservative commentator specifically cited Obama’s management of the health care system and the Environmental Protection Agency’s controversial new rule stating that existing power plants will have to cut their carbon emissions by 30 percent in 2030, compared to 2005 levels — a mandate many Republicans say is illegal.

“You want to run America? Don’t run for the presidency, get yourself head of the EPA,” Krauthammer added, claiming that the agency’s regulations make “Stalin’s five-year plans look like a picnic.”

In the end, though, he said that Obama is hurting the liberal cause and that the administration’s scandals ranging from IRS “abuse” to the handling of veterans’ affairs “will do lasting damage.”

“I think the country is getting a demonstration of liberalism in action and they don’t like it,” Krauthammer said.
