Burger King is known for their “have it your way” slogan, but it’s unlikely an Arizona woman wanted the popular fast-food chain to prepare her salad with this extra ingredient.
“It was actually in my salad,” Jennifer Ashley told KTVK-TV. “There was a razor blade in there that I could have potentially put in my mouth and cut my mouth with.”
The Flagstaff woman took a picture of the cranberry salad with the blade mixed in. She then took it to the manager, who informed her that all salads are inspected.
“I think there should be an alert on this because someone could have been seriously hurt or even killed. I’m just so thankful that my family member wasn’t hurt,” she told one news outlet.
Burger King talked to the employee, who admitted leaving the blade on a shelf, where it then fell into the tub of salad, KTVK reported. The employee was later fired.
The fast-food chain gave Ashley a refund and a free salad. She said she does not want to sue, but just raise awareness.
“I’m not looking to press charges. I’m not looking to get money from this,” she told KTVK. “I just want people to be aware that accidents happen and it could happen to anybody anywhere, and just be careful of what you eat. Don’t just assume that because it’s coming from a restaurant that it’s safe.”
