As Islamic militants continue to gain power in Iraq, Glenn Beck said on his radio program Monday that America would be better off detonating the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad than letting it fall into the hands of terrorists, if the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) overtakes the city.

“I hope to God we detonate that thing,” Beck said, but his co-host Pat Gray predicted that American leadership would never order such a move, and it would fall into the hands of extremists first.

“I can guarantee you that’s a listening station,” Beck said of the embassy. “When we were at CNN, we started looking into the Baghdad embassy, and … it was estimated to be over $1 billion at the time. And there were no pictures of this, no one was talking about it, and it is … bigger than all of Vatican City.”

Beck said when his team started airing photos of the massive diplomatic outpost, “the Bush Administration called CNN and said, ‘Call him off. Tell him to stop talking about the embassy.’”

“I said, ‘bull crap,’” Beck continued. “‘There’s no reason why we should stop.’ So we continued to talk about the embassy. There’s something wrong with that embassy. I don’t know what we were doing. I don’t know if it’s an NSA listening post or what it is, but that’s not a normal, run-of-the-mill embassy, period.”

Beck said America cannot allow any embassy to fall into the hands of extremists, but it is critical that the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad — and all the resources it possesses — not fall into the hands of ISIS.

But while Beck and his radio co-host Pat Gray agreed that the embassy cannot fall into the hands of extremists, they disagreed over how America should proceed. Gray argued that America must send in thousands of troops to beat back ISIS, which recently became the world’s wealthiest terror group after capturing Mosul. The group claims to have massacred 1,700 Iraqi soldiers in the past week, though the number has not been verified.

But Beck argued that America doesn’t have the money, stomach, or leadership for another major offensive in Iraq. Instead, he begged: “Pull back and strengthen the United States of America, because a storm is coming.”

“If I’m president of the United States, here’s what I do,” Beck said. “I give a speech [saying] the United States of America is 100 percent behind the nation of Israel. … We are not going to send ground troops, but they have a right to defend themselves, and all options — yes, the nuclear option — is on the table for them.”

Beck said he would then tell the rest of the world that we “cannot be the one that carries all the water,” and while it anguishes us that countless are being slaughtered in the Middle East, we must take care of the growing crises “here at home.”

“Right now, our troops need to be on our borders here in the United States of America, because we have MS-13 gang members being sent in, put on planes by our government and sent all across America,” Beck continued. “We need our troops on our border.”

Beck said he would also warn the world that while our troops are coming home, “America is not going asleep.”

“If you screw with us, we will pound you into glass,” Beck said. “In my administration, if you come over and you mess with us, I don’t give a flying rat’s ass if you live in a cave or you live in the biggest city in the world. We will pound you into glass. Then we’re not going to rebuild. We’ll be done by 3:30 this afternoon.”

Beck, no longer speaking as the president, said America is “so far away from the truth” that it’s time to go in the opposite direction.

“That’s what I’m for,” Beck concluded, adding that he does not trust the Obama administration, the officials at the Pentagon, or Congress to tackle the crisis effectively.

“I won’t spill another drop of American blood overseas,” Beck said. “Enough is enough. Go the other way.”
