Hillary Clinton apparently wants twice-disgraced former Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner to lie low for the next two years while she weighs a run for the White House, the New York Post reported.

That’s because Clinton’s longtime aide and friend, Huma Abedin, is Weiner’s wife. For Abedin to remain on board, Clinton made a “secret deal” with her to keep Weiner out of the spotlight, according to the Post’s Page Six.

A“well-placed source” told the Post: “He has been put on notice by Clinton aides to keep a low profile and remain out of sight and out of trouble.”

The newspaper also pointed to several recent events Abedin attended where her husband was noticeably absent, including galas and awards dinners attended by the Clintons.

A Clinton representative called reports of such a deal “1,000 percent absurd.”

Weiner resigned his House seat in 2011 after embroiling himself in a sexting scandal. After vowing to have reformed his life, he ran an unsuccessful campaign for New York City mayor last year, during which signs of his old habits resurfaced.

He was back in the news earlier this month after he favorited a tweet that read, “Tinder will now be the ultimate sext machine.”

To explain himself, Weiner tweeted: “OK, to recap my day. I accidentally hit the star thingy on a @voxdotcom story about Tinder. Sorry.”
