Overprotective parents have another piece of evidence to show that, perhaps, teens just shouldn’t drive.
A 16-year-old girl in Waltham, Massachusetts, apparently managed to flip a car over while driving at a snail’s pace.
The teen had apparently only driven 50 feet when she made a right turn at a stop sign, forgot to straighten the wheel, and found herself driving up the side of a tree.
“It was rather unusual,” Phil O’Dowd, the police officer who responded to the accident, told ABC News. “The gentleman who was the passenger said it was almost like slow motion, because when they rolled up to the tree they stopped for a second because they weren’t going that fast, and then it just rolled over.”
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.
“[The teenager] was pretty embarrassed,” O’Dowd said. “I told the young lady, to make her feel better, that she would have a great story to tell for the rest of her life. I can’t think of anything to top that.”
As if to make sure the story would stick with her for a lifetime, the Waltham Police Department tweeted about the incident.
