If passengers on a plane taxiing at Barcelona—El Prat Airport Saturday looked out the windows on the aircraft’s right side, they likely had a heart-stopping moment.
Coming right toward them was a UTair Boeing 767-300 from Moscow, descending as if it were cleared to land. The only problem was the taxiing Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus A340-300 on the ground was right in its path.
Close to the last second, the pilot of the landing plane pulled back up, avoiding what could have been “a bigger disaster of Barcelona Airport,” the videographer, Miguel Angel, wrote in a description of the footage posted to YouTube.
The Boeing 767 was able to circle around and land without incident, while the Argentinas took off safely for Buenos Aires.

Angel said watching what nearly happened was “one of the worst experiences I have ever had,” according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
It is unclear who was in the wrong here, but Captain John Holmes, a flight training manager at Ansett Aviation Training in Australia, told the Morning Herald instructions could have been misunderstood by one of the pilots or the control tower might not have given the proper commands in the first place.
