Palestinians have waved all sorts of flags, from the traditional flag in the Pan-Arab colors of black, white, green and red; to the green Hamas flag; and even the black flag associated with the Islamic State jihadi group fighting to establish a caliphate in Iraq, Syria and beyond.

Over the weekend in the village of Beit Ummar, however, Palestinians raised another flag that sent a defiant message to their Jewish neighbors: the Nazi swastika flag.

“The Arabs are no longer fearful of hiding their intentions,” an Israeli from the nearby West Bank settlement of Karmei Tsur who drove by the flag told the Tazpit News Agency. “To kill, destroy and uproot the Jewish people.”

The Nazi flag was hoisted near a mosque in the same village last year, leaving Jewish drivers shocked at the sight of the symbol of the German genocide of the Jews during World War II.

On Friday, the black ISIS flag was held prominently about the casket of Mohammed Abu Khdeir, 16, who was killed last week. Israel police say they have arrested several Israelis in connection with his killing.

Beit Ummar is situated near the field in which the bodies of three kidnapped Israeli teenagers were found buried under rocks last week.

The independent Palestinian news agency Ma’an reported Monday that dozens of Palestinians were injured in Beit Ummar while clashing with Israeli troops overnight Sunday. Villagers were demonstrating in protest of the killing of Khdeir, who Palestinians say was a victim of a revenge attack following the killings of the Israeli teens.
