Liberal Fox News co-host Bob Beckel’s use of the word “Chinamen” when discussing the “national security” threat China poses to the United States apparently caused such a stir at the Huffington Post that an “office-wide gasp” occurred.
Huffington Post senior political reporter Amanda Terkel and intern David McCabe both took to Twitter to talk about the “Chinamen” debacle.
Bob Beckel just referred to “Chinamen” on The Five. No, really. Really.

Might be first office-wide gasp I've heard all summer. RT @aterkel Bob Beckel just referred to “Chinamen” on The Five. No, really. Really.

“The Chinese are the single biggest threat to the national security of the U.S.,” Beckel said on “The Five” during the segment in question. “They have been, they will be and they can wait, they’re very patient. Do you know what we just did? As usual, we bring them over here and we teach a bunch of Chinamen — er, Chinese people — how to do computers and then they go back to China and hack into us.”
The Huffington Post reports that the other hosts of “The Five” actually “[gasped] in disbelief,” though Greg Gutfeld and Eric Bolling appeared to rub their eyes knowing that some of the usual suspects would be completely outraged by the word.
The left-leaning news website also notes that Beckel once referred to white people as “crackers” and said after he went swimming his “eyes blew up and it made me look Oriental.”
