A European astronaut working at the International Space Station said Wednesday he had captured his “saddest photo yet.”
Alexander Gerest tweeted out the picture to his roughly 82,000 followers, explaining that he “can actually see explosions and rockets flying over #Gaza & #Israel.”

The photo was captured as the ISS flew flew over the embattled region. At the time of publication, the tweet had received more than 10,000 retweets and over 2,600 favorites.
