Isaac Yeffet, the former director of security for El Al airlines, blasted the FAA’s decision to suspend all flights to Israel for at least 48 hours, saying the decision has given Hamas an “incentive” to persist in its attacks.

“Instead of continual negotiation for seize fire, we are telling now Hamas, ‘Continue to shoot toward Israel. If you can shoot more, do it,’” Yeffet said Wednesday on The Glenn Beck Program. “This is the incentive.”

Yeffet said it is a “shame” that the United States is taking action “not to help Israel, but to hurt Israel” and “not to help passengers, but to hurt passengers.”

“This is politics behind this,” he remarked. “I cannot understand it.”

Beck also criticized the decision on his radio program Wednesday, calling it a “knife in the back” of our ally.

Beck said he does not believe the U.S. government has knowledge of an imminent attack, since President Obama has repeatedly stated that he learns about breaking events from the news, and El Al is still confidently flying its own planes.

“El Al is not going to commit suicide by flying day and night and carrying thousands of passengers if there is any risk to their lives,” Yeffet said, echoing Beck’s statement. “What the FAA did, they gave only more incentive to Hamas to shoot more and more rockets and missiles towards Israel, because they understand that we are now in big, big jeopardy because of the rockets.”
