Glenn Beck and radio co-hosts Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere conducted a little in-house “science experiment” on Friday after reading about an ice cream sandwich that seemingly didn’t melt after being left outside for hours.

“So [WCPO-TV] did an experiment with Haagen-Dazs, which melted quickly into a puddle because that’s, you know, real stuff,” Gray explained. “The Klondike sandwich melted to a fair extent, they said. The Walmart sandwich, though it melted a bit, remained the most solid in appearance and still looked like a sandwich. And I’m looking at the photo of it. They don’t say at what hour this was taken, but it’s pretty well intact.”

Burguiere didn’t seem particularly disturbed that there may be chemicals and preservatives in his food, saying sarcastically: “I mean, I know there are piles of bodies outside of every single hospital in America because of the deadly Walmart ice cream sandwiches…”

“Come on, you know that the crap we put in our food is killing us,” Beck responded.

“I don’t believe that at all,” Burguiere said. “Not at all. The word ‘natural’ does not mean you’re going to be healthy. The word ‘chemicals’ does not mean you’re going to be sick.”

The group decided to re-create the experiment using three different types of ice cream sandwiches: a Blue Bunny ice cream sandwich and two they picked up from Walmart, one of which was 97 percent fat-free.

After just one hour, all three ice cream sandwiches had melted in just 77-degree weather.

“They all melted,” Beck said, adding: “The Walmart sandwich that is not fat-free looks like it’s made out of all fake stuff, which it’s not. The one made out of fake stuff looks yummy…”
