British police said they arrested a passenger suspected of making a “hoax bomb threat” on a plane that landed at Manchester Airport Tuesday.

The Qatar Airways flight from Doha had received a fighter jet escort because of a threat of a “possible device on board,” the U.K. Telegraph reported. The flight had been carrying 269 passengers and 13 crew members.

Police in an earlier statement said they didn’t know whether the threat was real, but that it was “absolutely vital that we deal with the situation as a full emergency,” according to the Associated Press.
