EDGARTOWN, Mass. (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton’s spokesman says the former secretary of state is not trying to attack President Barack Obama’s foreign policy by voicing some differences and looks forward to “hugging it out” with her ex-boss at any upcoming party.
The spokesman, Nick Merrill, says Clinton called Obama on Tuesday after giving an interview that distanced her from some of his foreign policy.
Merrill says while they’ve had some differences, “They do not eclipse their broad agreement on most issues.”
The two plan to attend a party on Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday night for Ann Jordan, wife of Democratic adviser Vernon Jordan.
Merrill says that “like any two friends who have to deal with the public eye, she looks forward to hugging it out when they see each other.”
