Enemy in New ‘Visceral Single Player’ Video Game Resembles Racist Tea Partiers — and Part of the Mission Is to Physically Disable or Kill Them

A new first-person shooter from Electronic Arts allows individuals to physically harm and kill an enemy that resembles a group of racist Tea Partiers.

The trailer for “Battlefield Hardline,” released this week at a gamer’s conference, shows the main character escape from a makeshift prison with a partner.

Along the way, the two overhear a man over an intercom describe events that led to “the denigration, the humbling, the tearing down of everything that made this country great.”

At one point, the trailer shows the primary character choke a man with a jacket prominently featuring the Gadsden flag. As the character encounters several other guards, he overhears racist language.

“A quarter-million bucks for a Mexican? S*** man, I didn’t know they got so expensive,” one of the guards says, before being gunned down.

Later, the main character escapes and goes behind enemy lines where he discovers a Gadsden flag prominently displayed on the wall.

“Looks like your old friends have gone way past bank robbery,” one of the characters says.

“One black president and Tony completely lost his s***,” the other replies.

On its official website, the game — scheduled for release in early 2015 — is described as a “visceral single player,” though it includes a multiplayer option as well.

“Right and wrong isn’t always that clear,” a description of the game says. “With a fresh new style inspired by from the most popular crime dramas seen on television today, Battlefield Hardline’s gritty story will take you through so many twists and turns, you won’t be able to wait until the next episode.”
