By now, you’ve probably seen your fair share of buckets of ice water being dumped over people’s heads as they take the challenge to raise awareness for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, more commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease.

But few have done it in quite so epic a fashion as the country music stars in the Zac Brown Band.

The band brought in a firetruck to assist them in the “Ice Bucket Challenge” as well as a few tractors with front loaders toting loads of water.

The band accepted the challenge from country music singer Hunter Hayes and the clothing brand Vineyard Vines.

The Zac Brown Band went on to forward the challenge to Jimmy Buffett, Foo Fighters, Bob Lefsetz and Garth Brooks.

As of Monday, the ALS Association reported that it has received more than $15.6 million in donations, compared to $1.8 million raised within the same period last year.

“Never before have we been in a better position to fuel our fight against this disease. Increased awareness and unprecedented financial support will enable us to think outside the box,” Barbara Newhouse, president and CEO of the association, said in a statement over the weekend.

Newhouse said the organization plans to use the donations to “invest prudently in helping people with ALS and their families and caregivers in the battle against the disease, while resolutely pursuing all avenues to extend, improve and ultimately save lives.”
