Just feet from a serene beach in Destin, Florida, a “massive” hammerhead shark was caught on video cruising toward two people wading in the surf, neither of whom apparently had a clue about what was happening.
A group, presumably spying the whole scene from a high balcony on the beach, shouted repeatedly at the pair to get out of the water. One of the witnesses was videotaping the scary scene.
“Shark!” they yelled. “A big hammerhead! Get out of the water!”
But the pair did nothing — one even visually brushed off the warnings.
Then the hammerhead’s tail broke the water’s surface, causing a huge splash — and the doubter turned into a believer, hoofing it like crazy through the waves toward the beach.
“Yeah, now run!” yelled one person in the group high above the beach, as the rest had a laugh.
The pair made it to safety, and one of the witnesses near the camera confirmed, “That is a massive shark — and it came all the way up to knee level.”
Here’s the clip. (Warning: Some profanity):
