A woman believed to be beheaded was found collapsed inside of a garden at a London home Thursday following a grisly crime that was reportedly carried out during the daylight hours.

While police are giving few details about what unfolded, detective John Sandlin told reporters that the incident is not believed to be terror-related, the BBC reported.

“I can understand why this may cause people concern, however we are confident that we are not looking for anyone else at this stage,” Sandlin said of the purported beheading. “Whilst it is too early to speculate on what the motive behind this attack was I am confident, based on the information currently available to me, that it is not terrorist related.”

Authorities did say that they arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the unnamed woman’s death, using a stun gun to subdue him.

Police first arrived on the scene around 1 p.m. in the afternoon after receiving reports of locals seeing a man roaming around in backyards with a knife in hand, the Guardian reported.

“My neighbour, who works nights, said she was woken by noise from a man in her back garden,” said one resident named Isik Saban. “He had a machete.”

Some speculated about the motive for the murder, considering the recent beheadings of American journalists Steven Sotloff and James Foley at the hands of Islamic State militants.
